Joining forces, the Agricultural Research Service of the United States Department of Agriculture, and SunGold Foods' parent company, Red River Commodities, began a two-year project to develop a substitute for peanut butter. They wanted to take into consideration the growth of people with peanut allergies. Sourcing seeds globally from carefully vetted growers and suppliers, SunButter has created a peanut and tree nut free butter spread that is safe for lunches, snacks or peanut and tree nut free recipes.

SunButter oversees the production from field to table, ensuring freshness, taste and quality in an allergen-free product. Featured in the Safe Snack Guide by Snack Safely, these butters and snacks are vegan, Non-GMO project Verified, and Certified kosher. All products from SunButter are produced in a dedicated facility that is free from peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, milk, wheat, soy, fish, and shellfish.
