Gary Erickson had just completed his 175-mile bike ride when he declined yet another unappetizing energy bar. Feeling hungry, he decided it was time to create a delicious tasting bar. For about 6 months he worked in his mom’s kitchen to create the first ever perfect tasting CLIF BAR name after his father.

Understanding that men and women need different proportions of vitamins, minerals, nutrients, etc, Gary, with the help of his female team, developed a nutrition bar for women. LUNA bars were created to elevate women’s voices across the world. It is a great on-the-go snack that is made with women’s needs in mind to help nourish them throughout the day.

All LUNA bars are gluten-free and produced using only non-GMO ingredients that are sourced from suppliers that meet the company’s requirements stated in an affidavit. They are Certified Kosher, and have a line for Low Glycemic bars. They do contain soy, peanuts, tree nuts and milk.
