I Heart Keenwah was founded in 2009 by Sarah Chalos and Ravi Jolly. It all started with a passion for ancient grains. Sarah and Ravi saw the importance of eating healthy and how quinoa is a natural and complete source of protein with all 9 essential amino acids. 

Everything produced by I Heart Keenwah is Certified Gluten-free, Non-GMO Project Verified, and kosher. The majority of their snacks are USDA Organic and vegan. They have an official sourcing commitment to Bolivian quinoa and work with Fair Trade cooperatives. Their products are manufactured in a facility that also processes gluten products, nuts and other allergens, but the machinery undergoes thorough cleaning and swab testing to maintain their gluten-free certification. 

I Heart Keenwah sources Bolivian Royal Quinoa. Bolivian-grown quinoa is branded as the highest quality quinoa in the world because it is considered an heirloom seed, which means it is a non-hybridized, non-commercially bred or non-GMO seed; it is of a larger size making them fluffier when cooked and giving them a nuttier flavor; it is sustainable since Bolivian farmers employ sustainable farming practices; and it is cultivated by smallholder farmers, emphasizing their commitment to Fair Trade Certification.
