Chicago Vegan Foods was created by long time besties Ryan Howard and Dan Ziegler in 2001. With a passion for great snacks, they ventured in the creation of delicious, cruelty-free food products with taste and texture similar to their animal-based competitors. But in 2008, Ryan wanted his vegan son to try a marshmallow for the first time, and unable to find a suitable one, so he decided to create his own.

Dandies Marshmallows have no artificial flavors or colors, contain no corn syrup or gelatin, are gluten free, and free from peanuts, tree nuts, milk, egg, wheat, fish or shellfish byproducts, and corn. They are made in a dedicated vegan facility using natural ingredients like cane sugar and soy protein. The marshmallows are Non-GMO Project Verified as well as vegan and kosher certified.
